Special Needs Under Gentle Guided Love Everyday
HOW SNUGGLE BECAME A REALITY
SNUGGLE rescues orphaned and special needs kittens and puppies who require foster care due to illness and injuries.
It Began with a Flood
It Began with a Flood

In 1993, the greater St. Louis area experienced a 500-year flood affecting people and animals. Survivors got through an extremely challenging time thanks to an army of dedicated volunteers. One of those volunteers was Sharon Maag. It was her love for animals that led her to the St. Charles Humane Society, who had taken a lead role in rescuing and sheltering the four-legged disaster victims. This was the first time Sharon had ever done anything like this. When the recovery efforts were over, Sharon decided she wanted to continue helping animals.
The Mid-West flood was not Sharon's last disaster. She responded to 21 others, including Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. During all these devastating acts of Nature, Sharon was drawn to the newborn kittens and puppies. She felt these babies needed extra special attention and she was determined to make sure they did not get forgotten in all the chaos. Each time Sharon returned home from another disaster; she became increasingly more aware she did not have to wait for the next hurricane, flood or fire to make a difference. Everyday there was a different kind of disaster happening in backyards throughout her community affecting abandoned, injured and sick kittens and puppies. Their stories did not make the news, but that did not make saving their lives any less important. Sharon was determined to do something to ensure these fragile babies got the help they needed in order to survive.
It is clear to everyone who knows Sharon, what she has been doing since 2004 defines her purpose in life. That is why she has put her heart and soul into saving the tiniest babies by making sure SNUGGLE is always there for them.

SNUGGLE has no paid staff. We are proud to be a 100% all volunteer organization. Our donations are for the animals.
THANK YOU
It takes the hands of lots of talented and compassionate individuals to save the kittens and puppies that are brought to SNUGGLE. Without our Volunteers, and all the trusted Veterinarians, amazing Vet Techs and devoted Animal Shelter Adoption Staff that SNUGGLE partners with, these animals may not have lived. The team of people who have done their part to keep adding to SNUGGLE's success stories are our heroes. Every single kitten or puppy that got a second chance could not have landed in better hands.
